What do ligers like to eat

On the other hand a report about a liger named as "Hercules" indicated that ligers take 25 pounds of meat on the daily basis. Please do remember that 25 pounds is just an average estimate, because ligers are capable of eating around pounds of meat in a single sitting as well. Several other information sources claim that on a single day a liger is capable of eating around 50 pounds of meat.

Similarly a liger named as Samson at the Spirit of the Hills Wildlife Sanctuary at Dakota consumed about 30 to 50 pounds of meat on a single day.

One of the most favorite foods of this liger includes beef, elk and venison Mott, Samson the liger did not like chicken at all but this does not mean that all the ligers hate chicken meat. It is not only the meat that is a fundamental part of the liger's diet. Water is a must part of the diet of every living organism.

The same is true about the liger as well. Lets not forget it is twice the size of a tiger and that is extremely big and is easily spotted and it wouldn't be able to catch its own food. Actually it is only the male that is found to most often be sterile. The female is very often fertile and would be able to reproduce in the wild. As for hunting capabilities, as with any other animal, the most adept would survive whereas the least capable would parish.

Natural selection would play it's role, but it would depend on how many of these animals were introduced into the wild to allow for selection to begin. Thank u so much. I was doing a science report on the liger and needed one more paragraph to have enough info. This is the only website that had what a liger eats. Post a Comment Your comments are always welcome. Posted by Michael Broad July 14, It is highly likely that all Ligers are man made hybrids that are bred to entertain people.

This is the harsh truth; it is purely about commerce and Tigers and Lions are exploited. Although the pretext for keeping large cats in zoos is one of conservation and preservation.

For the Liger there can be no argument about preservation as the animal doesn't exist in the wild. Although Tigers and Lions can mate in the wild this is almost certainly not going to happen today due to the dramatically reduced population of both species and the fact that they have different habitats, which do not integrate.
