When is knit in public day

All events are organized by volunteers, and many times themes are chosen for these KIPs Knit in Publics , such as knitting for hospitals or charity groups. With so many events around the world, chances are there is an event in your city. This day is not just for those who have knitted for years, you can join if you are looking for a new hobby!

Another way to celebrate the day is by participating in yarn bombing, a form of public art where light poles, trees, and anything in public is decorated with yarn creations. This may be considered vandalism though, so you may want to use good judgement. Find out more at woveninkirklees.

Head along to The Creative Craft Centre on Saturday 8th June to have a go at creating a waterways-themed woollen mural that will be displayed on the outside of the shop. It will incorporate weaving, crocheting and knitting, so all ages and abilities can get involved.

Bother knitters and crocheters are welcome to get together to show off their love of crafting. Find out more at wwkipday. The trail is an annual event that showcases the arty talents of the local community.

Just post a photo of yourself knitting in public on Instagram and use the hashtag mysisterknits. We will randomly draw a name and notify the winner on Tuesday, June 15th.

July classes are posted on our website! Basic Knitting is offered in July. Learn to Knit will be offered again in August. We understand that this can be confusing! We hope that you can join us for Worldwide Knit in Public Day!
